FIGHTER is an intense and penetrating
portrait of acclaimed novelist Arnost Lustig and war hero
Jan Wiener--larger-than-life figures bound by deep ties
of shared experience. Wiener and Lustig return to Europe
to retrace Wiener's escape from Nazi-occupied Czechoslovakia.
Their odyssey takes them from Prague to the south of Italy.
Together they travel through scenes of wartime romance,
narrow escapes, and life-or-death confrontations. Ultimately,
their journey becomes a contentious clash of personalities
that brings their friendship to the brink of collapse.
