George Harrison - born Feb 25, 1943 - passed away from a battle with cancer Thursday afternoon at the age of 58. Harrison had been diagnosed with throat cancer in 1998 and suffered a bizarre stabbing attack from an intruder the following year.

Harrison was the Beatle's lead guitarist & was known as the calm & irreverant one. He went on to play with The Traveling Wilbury's & produce solo works.

His songwriting classics include "Here Comes the Sun" & "Something" & "While My Guitar Gently Weeps.
