"Catchy
chorus lines, lyrics that make you think and a lead singer
whose presence just screams rock star" says Live Magazine
about this melodic rock trio that saw its inception in 2000,
when Norwegian born vocalist/guitarist Toggo first started
placing ads in local Los Angeles music magazines to assemble
what was to become Scared Of Girls.
The first one to answer the call was Swiss drummer Antoine.
With the addition of his song-driven and intense drumbeats,
the freshly formed duo wasted no time while looking for
a bassist to complete the band, immersing themselves in
Los Angeles' acoustic scene, playing a stripped-down unplugged
version of their music.

The
group's high-energy and unconventional live shows soon caught
the attention of one of Hollywood's most popular acoustic
clubs, The Crooked Bar. Impressed by their "colorful
chemistry, talent and charm" (Music Connection Magazine),
the venue hired the band for a 3-month Thursday night residency,
at which point the duo became a trio with the addition of
Louisiana bassist Mark Drews.

The
commercial viability of Scared Of Girls' music was recently
recognized nationally, when MTV licensed several of their
songs for use in upcoming episodes of MTV's "Undressed".
California
radio stations KROQ (106.7 Los Angeles) and X103.9 (San
Bernardino) have also taken a liking to the band's unique
brand of "alternative rock that runneth over with enthusiasm
and good vibes" (listen.com) by spinning songs from
their CD "Sonic Boom" (released independently
in September 2001).
With
the group's relentless promotion campaigns and a reputation
for being not just one of the biggest buzz-words on the
local scene, but one of the hardest working bands in Hollywood,
the band is currently enjoying headlining status in Los
Angeles clubs, drawing crowds in the triple digits and increasing
the number of die-hard fans with every show.
The
band has however, no plans of resting on their laurels.
To leave you with their own words: "We're not in it
to impress our friends in Hollywood - we have a deep love
for what we're doing, this is our life, and we will not
stop until Scared Of Girls have left a permanent mark on
the music world".
