Publicity Whore HIGHLY recommends everyone check out this show. Shut Up Marie is getting airplay all over the country and will be playing the Gig this Wednesday for a huge industry showcase. The band is high energy and was a headliner at Publicity Whore's Bash Bash last November.

SHUT UP MARIE has recently been contacted by some of the majors including Columbia, MCA, and RCA. Virgin Records is also in the mix, and this could be because of the band's recent appearance in ALBUM NETWORK, one of the industry's top radio trade magazines, charting on Fairly Underground in the Nov 30th issue less than 2 months ago. The band's also been detecting on BDS on at least 30 markets, some of those major markets, including KROQ Los Angeles, WLIR New York City, KATT Oklahoma City, KUPD Pheonix, WMRQ Hartford, WPLY "Y-100" Philly, KXRK Salt Lake City, WAVF Charleston, and the list goes on.

The band's debut EP "DEMO" has been a radio hit for a better part of last year, charting on CMJ's MOST ADDED chart last summer, and being played on over 130 college stations that we know about. SHUT UP MARIE lead singer Annette plans on taking these results even further to secure the kind of record deal she wants, "We did the college airplay camapign last summer with the expectation that we'd create some sort of a buzz, but we certainly weren't expecting the commercial specialty campaign to take off like it did. We'll be going for Official Adds for specialty on Jan. 22nd across the country. We were not originally planning on going for adds, but the response had been so positive that we're going for it.

Phase 2 of our plan is to get out of L.A. and build a fanbase of people from Phoenix, Bakersfield, The Bay Area, even as far north as Portland and Salt Lake City, and we should have our first out-of-town gig in Feb. I want to make sure that we've got some serious ammunition to present to interested labels so we have a little more negotiating power when it comes time to sit down and talk."
