In the months since the day that changed our society forever, it has become painfully clear to this writer that the world has been bestowed one more burden for all of us to deal with. Along with long delays at our nations airports and a new war in the Middle East, we have had to deal with the burden of Ashleigh Banfield.

One of the most vivid images that I carry from that day - September 11th 2001 - are not one of commercial planes flying into buildings, or people jumping from the WTC to their deaths, rather it was the news “coverage” provided to us by this little ignorant sl**.

You might remember her if you think about it. She was the reprehensible blonde running around the ruins of Ground Zero. The one who was holding up papers telling the viewing audience "Look! This invoice carries the address of 1 World Trade Center!” She was one that was constantly being told to leave the area by the local authorities. As a journalistic professional in the middle of one of the biggest tragedies this country has ever seen, did she comply with the wishes of police and leave the area? After all wouldn’t it make sense to honor the requests of these hero’s facing the biggest and most daunting tasks of their lives? Well to any person with even the slightest shed of humanity, the answer is clear. Move along. However this bottom feeding, opportunistic waste of oxygen decided to pull the ultimate media trump card “ But the public has the right to know!” Obviously her choice to make the already impossible job of the authorities a little bit harder in order to further her career was logical in her skeevy little head.

How can we forget her compassion later that day when tower 2 came crumbling down?

“John, pan out and make sure you get this shot!! Oh and Miss, watch your baby!”

I can only hope that the vast majority of viewers were able to see right through this pathetic attempt to show concern to civilians caught in the danger zone.

And when the dust settles, what does NBC do? They make this dumbass their flagship spokesperson. Shipping her off to Afghanistan just 8 days later no less. So now every time I turn on my TV I have to see this dirtball polluting the airwaves. But hey, I try to look on the bright side of things at least somebody had a good day on Sept. 11th. Currently you can enjoy her reports live from the front lines in Israel. One can only hope she gets caught in the crossfire.

With this in mind, I nominate Asshead Banfield as my prickette of the century, officially dethroning Celine Dion.
