Even if you are lucky enough to find parking within a
two mile radius of this place (nestled, conveniently,
within the heart of boys' town), don't be silly enough
to assume you'll also be lucky enough to fit inside. By
11pm the place is packed tighter than a can 'a sardines
- but the throng of men don't seem to mind one bit! On
the contrary, the few times I have entered the domains,
the slew of fresh, beautiful faces sprinkled with older,
wiser (none-the-less handsome visages), have been more
than welcoming to as many patrons as they could fit within
the doors.
how about a nice big Salty Sardine!

The space is small but there are two bars, a d.j. and
a dance floor. Both bars are lined by a wall of bodies
in seemingly constant flux of emptying and filling from
the ocean of people crowding every inch of the place.
The d.j. plays the most danceable tracks around - and
there is certainly no shortage of those willing to get
down (on the dance floor or on the covered-pool-table-turned-dance-spotlight).
In addition to good-looking and friendly men in abundance,
I have noticed more and more women discovering the tiny
hot spot as well (i.e. four or five in one night, rather
than just li'l ole me), both of the 'butchy' variety,
as well as the beautiful, model-with-her-gay-photographer
type.
Bottom line: If you are looking for the glitz and glamour
of hollywood life, go to the Standard. However, if you
want to have a great time dancing your arse off with fun
people and drinking at less-than-Sunset-blvd. prices,
come to Fubar.
