U.S. Bombs, Texas Terri & Spitfires Erupt in Silverlake Performance.

by: Josh Banks

Blasting through the asbestos filled walls - here come the U.S Bombs.

Lead by the skateboarding pool riding maniac, Duane Peters, the U.S Bombs exploded for one night only at The Garage.

Opening was A.D.H.D. - scum rock at its best. They refrained from excessive acts of mayhem on this night, but typically they tear shit up.

From a sound of rock and roll past, came the Spitfires. They have an amazing catchy tempo and lyrics (without selling out to the masses) and keep a raw punk rock edge. The Spitfires could be compared to The Hives. Led by Jason's powerful vocals, I for one hope The Spitfires land again to take us on their rock and roll roller coaster ride.

Texas Terri brought her own brand of lunacy to the stage next. With her own expression of sexuality and in your fucking face rock, Texas Terri and The Stiff Ones are a band bringing back the true raw power of madness missing in rock and roll. No pretty boys here, just the wildest women in rock and roll in Los Angeles. I 'd say that Terri is the female Iggy Pop.

Terri and her merry band of madmen commanded the stage, and belted out tunes ranging from the plight of the working girl to straight up hardcore sodomy (and we here at Publicity Whore are big fans of straight up hardcore sodomy).

If you're tired of clean-cut punk rock, and are looking for the true grit of what punk is really about, give Texas Terri a spin.

Next up was the tattered and torn, and ready to rock Duane Peters and The U.S Bombs. With their socially charged lyrics, and in your face attitude, The Garage erupted into a mosh pit immediately. They're a band that sets a new standard of what one can define as punk rock. Duane Peters is a man who has been around the block and back, and not only a ripping skateboarder - but also a great front man, as well.

U.S bombs rocked the house with songs from their new album "Back to the Laundromat", and tunes from "The World" and "War Birth."

A big thanks to Texas Terri and Duane Peters and the rest of the madcap cast of the night for another great night of punk rock madness, a special thanks to the asshole that broke into my car, and didn't even get my C.D player. I hope you like my Ignite C.D - fucking crack head.
