Grown consists of four charmingly dysfunctional
individuals: Adam on Bass and Vocals, John on Vocals
and Guitar, Darren on Drums, and Dan on Guitar.
I finally got to conduct the interview after a ripping
set at U.SC, right before Unwritten Law hit the
stage.

P.W:
So how's your day been?
Darren:
It's been a busy day. I almost vomited on stage
this afternoon, but fortunately didn't. Also - I
felt the night session went way better. We looked
a lot hotter under the red lights than the sunlight.
Adam:
Just for future stage guys, red lights make our
complexion look amazing.

P.W:
So what's been going on with Home Grown lately?
Adam:
We just did two months of Warped Tour. Lots of Ass,
lots of Breasts, lots of beer, but unfortunately
lots of penises, too. We played the Drive-Thru record
stage. It was great played to huge crowds everyday.
Now we're out supporting the new record 'Kings of
Pop,' and are getting ready to go on tour with Unwritten
Law.
Dan:
We've been together for eight years, and finally
got the tour bus. We got to taste it with, like
- seventeen other people on the Warped Tour.

P.W: Who would you say is your audience?
Adam:
Lots of hot moms, single moms - age 35 and up. we
don't know why, but they have been showing up lately.
Really hot moms! Also little kids.
John:
We like 'em young!
Darren:
Well, we do think it’s cool when little kids
come to our show for the first time. For some it
might even be their first concert ever!

"Why
hello Mrs. Robinson..."
P.W:
Any wild, crazy, or disgusting stories while on
tour?
John:
I took a shit in a plastic bag twice.
Darren:
I lit a sparkler on my cock.
Adam:
One of the most disgusting things I've ever
seen!
Darren:
I put it in my urethra, and the sparks lit my pubic
hair on fire!
John:
You know what was really cool? I pulled it outta
my penis and put out the fire!
P.W:
Well that was a little more than I need to know
thank you.
Adam:
Another funny story - one night when I was getting
out of bed while on tour I had morning wood, and
I got in and cuddled Dan - spoon style. He was pretty
bummed out.

"Hey really
funny guys!"
P.W:
So what do you guys think about the new pop punk
compared to the old pop punk? Are you guys the new
voice of punk rock?
John:
We've been around about eight years. Lot of new
bands on Drive Thru are influenced by us. When we
first started most of these new guys were in Kindergarten.
Adam:
Yeah, and now that we're like fifty-three, they
all look up to us.

& Adam
P.W:
So what do you think of this new scene? I mean I
remember the days when kids were outside the show
bumming for change now you have the soccer moms
dropping off their kids in the parking lot…I
mean is that really punk?
John:
You still actually have that old punk rock scene
to, - especially in Florida where you have a lot
of gutter punk kids coming to our shows.
Darren:
Nowadays you have indie-rock, punk, & ska. Everyone
has kind of associated themselves with certain scenes.
Back in the day it was different. There weren't
as many bands, and everyone kind of associated all
as one underground scene.

Dude
- can you spare a quarter?
P.W:
It is hard to find bands that really have an edge
in pop punk?
Darren:
I'd say we have an edge in our music, but really
we just try to play good tunes that our fans will
accept.

P.W:
So what do you guys think of the new Eminem album?
Darren:
I like it a lot.
John:
Yeah - it 's pretty cool.
Adam:
I'm into white guys that rap, so I think he's pretty
cool.

Yo
dog, go see 8 mile...
P.W:
So what are some new bands coming out that people
should check out?
Darren:
The Startling Line, Finch, Hot Rod Circuit, Sparta.
There's so much good music coming out nowadays,
it's unbelievable. Of course you also have our new
album out.

P.W:
So what would you like to say to the Publicity
Whore audience out there?
Adam:
We'd like to thank everyone who has stuck with us
for all these years. If you come to our web site,
you can listen the entire album (which is only $10.00
in the stores). Also - there's a street scene that
you can join and a lot of other cool stuff to check
out. So go to
our web site at
www.drivethrurecords
and support us and check
out the other bands on the web site.

Publicity Whore and the "Kings Of Pop".
Would
you like your band interviewed for Publicity Whore?
Well tell us you swine!!!
