Insane
Clown Posse Key
Club Hollywood
By:
J Boogie
On
November 5 at the Key Club was the release party for
The 6th Jokers Card(Insane Clown Posse's 6th album)'The
Wraith' Shangri-La' by those crazy painted lunatics
Violent Jay and Shaggy 2 Dope otherwise known as The
Insane Clown Posse.(I.C.P)
An
I.C.P show is unlike anything you have ever witnessed
before. First of all these fans are more than just fans
they are family (known in the I.C.P world not as fans
but 'Juggalos' (male) and 'Juggalettes' (female). Unknown
to the general public, I.C.P have created a phenomenon
that goes way beyond a typical concert experience for
the 'Juggalos', paint their face in wild clown make-up,
and do whatever it takes to get to an I.C.P gathering
or concert.(This one Juggalo was telling me how he drove
from LA to Detroit just to see I.C.P perform on Halloween
night.) I can understand where these kids are coming
from and why I.C.P has such an impact on the lost youth
in America.
The
youth that follow I.C.P can relate with them because
these kids do not fit into the molds of the typical
adolescent peer group(the jocks, preppies, brains, cheerleaders
etc.) and are looking for a group or a family (look
at the statistics of all the broken homes in America)
and have found a place rather than a prison cell where
they can be accepted. Remember when you were a youth
wouldn’t it been great to find a place where you
were accepted.
So these kids, young adults and parents all showed up
some dressed in wild make-up, some just in I.C.P gear
or even some just in street clothes to the Key Club
to support the release of the new I.C.P album 'The Wraith'.
I have to say it was quite a wild display of characters
and stories to be told. These kids were telling us (the
Publicity Whore crew), their testimonials of how I.C.P
had saved their life and even turned it around steering
them in the right direction. I.C.P had accomplished
what the psychologists, school systems, and parental
groups have been trying to do for years just by relating
to their fans and giving them something to believe in
'The Dark Carnival'.(Check out the new I.C.P album to
find out what the Dark Carnival is all about).
'clowns
of the black hole'
So your wondering now that I have given my testimonial
on I.C.P and how now I can understand where the 'Juggalos',
and 'Juggalettes' are coming from what actually went
on at the Key Club on that fateful November 5th. Well,
Violent Jay and Shaggy 2 Dope had a real surprise in
store for the 'Juggalos'.
Would
you really want to fuck with these guys?
First off Shaggy 2 Dope came on stage and told the audience
that he had lost Violent Jay at the airport because
Violent Jay could not give proper I.D. So he then declared
a replacement was coming to the stage Violent Jackson,
and out came Violent Jay decked out in a velvet rhinestone
jacket to the beat of Michael Jackson. Violent Jay started
the show by imitating Michael Jackson dance moves than
giving a shout out, 'What up yah all' and Shaggy 2 Dope
than said, 'I was just playing!' I.C.P than told them
what was in store for the evening a karaoke contest.
Three lucky 'Juggalos' or 'Juggalettes' were going to
be able to perform an I.C.P song with Violent Jay and
Shaggy 2 Dope.
So
three lucky contestants got up and sang their favorite
tune with their idols I.C.P. The first contestant was
even in a band The Backyard Pimps who are inspired by
I.C.P. After the three 'Juggalos' performed with I.C.P
as back-up, the crowd voted. But really I have to say
they all won because the 'Juggalos' had a chance to
perform with their heroes I.C.P.
I.C.P than put on a show, minus the faugo (a soft drink
that is sprayed on the crowd at most I.C.P shows.) Shaggy
2 Dope did some stage dives into the crowd and the 'Juggalos'
created a mosh pit and crowd surfed, which went right
along with the hard-core rap performance of I.C.P. Both
Violent Jay and Shaggy 2 Dope have incredible energy
on stage, boping around and having fun while they kick
out their rap beats. The 'Juggalos' and 'Juggalettes'
sung along to I.C.P old school tunes 'Terrible', 'Wicked
Carnival' and others. I.C.P ended the show with a wild
stage performance where the 'Juggalos' got on stage
and where able to dance around with their heroes Violent
Jay and Shaggy 2 Dope.
If
you have never heard I.C.P before check out their new
album 'The Wraith'. It is definitely different than
the typical rap record on the shelf at your local music
store. The stand-out track would have to be 'The Unveiling',
where you can find out what really is behind the I.C.P
phenomenom. So check out I.C.P and experience the 'Dark
Carnival', for yourself.
