Money
B and Clee from Digital Underground are
two guys who have seen it all. Not only are they
legendary from their roles in the old school Hip-Hop
group 'Digital Underground', but they have an edgy
new video series that is about to debut that has
everyone talking. Using celebrities, musicians and
adult film stars as hosts and guests, "Sex
and The Studio" integrates hip-hop music with
the adult industry in a way never before seen. Publicity
Whore sat down to see what this new video is all
about, and if these two really know a thing or two
about being 'Freaks of the Industry'.
P.W:
So we've been hearing the buzz.
What is the new project you guys are working on?
Money B: It is called "Sex and The Studio"
and is an adult music video magazine. It is a video
series where hosts from the adult industry and us
(the members of Digital Underground) go to basically
anywhere we can (parties, clubs, adult industry
events etc.) and interview celebrities and interesting
people about their sex lives.

P.W:
How did the idea for "Sex
and The Studio" come about?
Money B: Basically we are out in the clubs and sex
has always been a part of Digital Underground. So
since we already were on the scene, it was easy
to combine the hip-hop culture with the adult industry.
Just made sense to us.

Anyone
gotta problem with a hot ass?
P.W:
Tell me how you got started in
media, weren’t you on a radio station in Berkeley
some time back?
Money B: I started as an MC before I was a performer,
and first began my career in college radio. Later,
I started a hip-hop show on Saturday nights on KLAX
in Berkeley. The show came about by shopping my
demo and hooking up with a manager.

P.W:
How is "Sex and The Studio"
distributed? Is it a cable show you are looking
to sell to a network?
Money B: We have distribution under control. It
is going to be distributed through a partnership
with Metro Studios. We also have a website set-up
at www.sexandthestudio.com
where you can join and see the movies right now.
The goal is to have "Sex and the Studio"
come out on DVD and video, and also distribute the
soundtrack free along with it. We are also going
to have some broadcast deals and 'Video-on-Demand'.

This
reporter really digs into her story...
P.W:
Is this a solo project or are
you working with other members of Digital Underground?
Money B: Clee, who came up with the idea, and I
are working on "Sex and The Studio".

P.W: Describe the integration
between the hip-hop music and the video portion.
What can people expect to see?
Money
B: The first episodes feature hip- hop artists Snoop
Dogg, Dru-Down, Redman, Rass-Tass, Naughty By Nature,
De La Soul, Big Boy from Power 106, and other members
of Digital Underground - plus plenty of other Hip-Hop
artists. We also incorporated hip-hop music as a
background soundtrack to the video “Sex and
the Studio”. We are producing a disk that
will feature new tracks by Digital Underground and
other hip-hop artists featured in the video.

"The
O.G Digital Underground."
P.W.:
What do you enjoy most about
embarking on the new project? I mean, this is a
whole new angle to just the music you have been
doing up until now.
Money B: It is a new challenge learning about the
video world by working behind the camera. Seeing
it all come together and making it happen is really
the most exciting part for me personally.

"Or could it be the
naughty girls Money B?"
Money B: So you can get the whole
perspective on “Sex and The Studio”,
I am going to have Clee answer some questions.
P.W:
Clee, I understand this was
your idea originally. Where do you see this project
headed long term?
Clee:
Well for one thing this is not just a movie, it
is a movement. "Sex and The Studio's"
goal is to change the image of the adult industry
and to bring it into the mainstream.

P.W: What are you enjoying most
about the new project?
Clee:
The ability to be an innovator. Snoop Dogg has done
videos, but we are creating a unique product. “Sex
and The Studio” is definitely one of a kind.

P.W:
When will the video be available?
Clee:
The video is available on-line at www.sexandthestudio.com.
The video itself will be ready for purchase in January
2003. There are going to be two versions available,
so you can buy an R-rated version at a retail store
that does not carry X-rated material. In the X rated
version there will be uncensored, hard-core sex
scenes.

P.W:
Are you focusing your time more
on “Sex and The Studio”, or Digital
Underground?
Clee:
Right now we are focusing mainly on “Sex and
the Studio.” The next Digital Underground
show is going to be at The Player's
Ball (click to read the exclusive
D$ interview) on January 8th in Las Vegas.
We will have a booth at the Adult Expo. We are also
producing our own amateur adult movies under “Sex
and The Studio” and have Club Obsession coming
up real soon.

P.W:
You guys have been very successful
on the music scene for a long time. What advice
can you give to an up and coming hip-hop artist
trying to break into the business?
Clee:
Do something unique. You gotta bring something new
to the game, do not just jump on the bandwagon.
Be original.

P.W:
And lastly, what do you think
about those Freedom Fighting Journalists over at
Publicity Whore Magazine?
Clee: Good stuff. Just keep it up and the rest
will take care of itself. You better be in Vegas,
it is gonna be tight as hell.
P.W: Plane tickets are bought,
this is a show we are not gonna miss. Just look
for the crowd of hot girls ok, they'll be crowded
around our studly reporter 'J-Boogie". He's
a real ladies man! (READ THE REVIEW, CLICK BELOW)
