O.K so what’s keeping you locked in doors? Is
it really true that sitting around watching reruns of
Gilligans Island is better than what’s going on
out in the club scene in Hollywood? I have to admit
since The fires at The Great White show in Rhode Island
things have changed at the clubs and if you aren’t
their early your not getting in. But we managed to check
out some killer shows that have dropped recently in
the old town of Hollywierd. Hey in the times isn’t
just nice to go out and have a bit of good clean American
fun? (Or we really mean more beer, bitches and bands.)
The
Outlawz and Blaze - Knitting Factory Hollywood
We have always know Publicity
Whore is da shit but it’s cool when we are recognized
for our crazy appearances at the shows (If you haven’t
got a chance find one of us so you can go down in legacy
with a photo with The Publicity Whore sign ahhh if only
she could talk the stories she’d tell…)

Well
the Juggalos were happy to see The Publicity Whore crew
at The Outlawz, Blaze show at The Knitting Factory.
(Are their really Publicity Whore groupies? If so contact
J-Boogie josh@publicitywhore.com)
As Publicity Whore first arrived photo-ops were had
by the crew of Juggalos in attendance. If you never
heard of a Juggalo (read the article about ICP and the
Juggalos.) The Juggalos are the most die-hard fans and
go to any length to go to an ICP show or event. Well
the local Juggalo tribe was there to represent and check
out Blaze who is a member of The Psychopathic Family.

The
show was a mix of some hard-core serial killer clown
craziness gangster beats (Blaze), matched with some
smooth old school style hip-hop gangster rap (Outlawz).
I was really impressed by the set thrown down by Blaze
and they brought me back to the day’s of N.W.A
eighties style gangster rap.

Publicity Whore kickin it
wit Outlawz
The
boys The Outlawz are still represented years after the
death of the greatest hip-hop icon of all time Tupac.
The Outlawz mixed in some fun old school style Tupac
tunes, with rappers Shah & Blaze opening up the
show. The Outlawz crew came out and literally took over
the stage. But they all played well off each other rather
than certain acts that just fill the stage. Throwing
down the sexy groovy style of rap that mixed with some
hard-core kicking gangster beats the Outlawz put on
one hell of a show keeping the legacy of Tupac Shakur
alive years after his demise.

Outlawz throwin it out for
da Whore!!
Thanks
to Steve Lodel and the staff of The Knitting Factory
for making it another great show for The Publicity Whore
Crew.

Bodycount
@ The Key Club in Hollywood
It’s
the best in the rock-rap genre Bodycount with the one
and only Ice-T as the frontman. If you haven’t
seen Bodycount all I can say is they put on one rock
slam bam jamming show. If you don’t know the background
on Bodycount well they were the one of the originators
of the rap-rock style of music. Also this is one band
whose has had plenty of controversy and appraise for
their brash style of lyrical contents and freedom of
speech.

Its been a few years but their back
and badder than ever ready to put it all down to show
the new kids how its really done. All original members
(except Moose R.I.P) were their Ernie C (who was one
of the originators of Bodycount with Ice-T) . The local
rap-rock band Level with Alley the punk on Bass got
the crowd started and warmed up for the band of the
night who the sold-out show at The Key Club had waited
for Bodycount

The one and only Ice- T at
The Key Club
.
It had been almost ten years since Bodycount had played
in L.A., but once again they were ready to rock. Ice-T
threw some great spouts in between songs my favorite
being his statement how. “One son of a bush was
trying to kill us all.” It was also killer hearing
the great tunes of my youth (well O.K the beginning
of my late adolescent state and still rocking refuse
to grow-up attitude) for example Cop Killer, KKK Bitch,
and Evil Dick. I remember kicking back drinking some
brews listening to Bodycount back in the day. Live this
band was really impressive and put on a long set and
got the crowd rocking. Ernie C ripped through some killer
solo work on the guitar and of course Ice-T rocked the
mic. So look out for Bodycount who should be dropping
a new album hopefully soon. Because its about time to
bring back the Bodycount!!!

Sean
Healy presents:Too Short
@ The Key Club
w/Rap Bastardz & Silk Capone
Because life is… Too Short!!!
That’s right courtesy of Sean Healy Presents Too
Short dropped in for another sold-out show at The Key
Club. On this evening there were plenty of police in
attendance (hey its Too Short do you blame them?) well
not just because of Too Short but recent events in the
Hollywood area. The night included Silk Capone and local
hip-hop icons The Rap Bastardz.

Its Too Short...
Well
if you haven’t seen a Rap Bastardz show than your
missing one of the most entertaining hip-hop acts in
the local scene. I mean who can not love a group with
dancing girls, blow-up doll props and of course free
shit( our cheap asses love that free shit!) The Rap
Bastardz always aim to please- the bitches and their
were plenty of them in attendance.( Publicity Whore
are always looking for some groupie interns email josh@publicitywhore.com)

Those Rap Bastardz...

Next
up was Silk Capone who ripped it up gangster slick style.
But next up was the pimp daddy of them all the one and
only Too Short. If you remember back in the day Too
Short was the shit and he’s still representing
some down home Oakland style dirty hip-hop that please
both the players and the bitches alike.

and Silk Capone w/ Money-B
& Clee
Also in attendance were plenty old school players like
Sir Jinx and crew. Also we caught up with D-$ from the
Players Ball and Money-B and Clee from Digital Underground
and Sex and The Studio. Special thanks goes out to T-roy,
for making sure our dumb asses were in the club, where
they needed to be. Props.

The Cabaret
@ El Cid Theater
Well
with the popularity right now in Chicago (and the best
picture award) of course there are going to be a million
Cabaret style shows. But the boys from 4play Entertainment
(the ones that promote Tomedy every Tuesday.) brought
some hot dancers to perform in the down stairs bar at
The El Cid in Silver Lake. If you’ve never check
out the El Cid well you’re missing out a great
classy venue smack dab on the edge of Sunset.

The hot babes of The Cabaret.
This
was the first in many Cabaret style events with fine
dining experience along with great jazz singers and
hot girls to boot. The girls came out dressed to kill
in Lingerie and danced to a very sexy number straight
from you guessed it Chicago. Along with the girls hot
sexy bumping and grinding classy cabaret dancing, there
was a great lounge style jazz act to close out the night.
Ace was the MC and the promoter who knows how to put
together a shoe that is both classy and sexy at the
same time. That is complete Publicity Whore style entertainment.

Optimus
@ Club 1650
Club 1650 was the venue for another
hot hip-hop night featuring the master of hip-hop disaster
Optimus. Opening up for Optimus was the gang of rappers
crew of Rawgilicudy. These guys threw down some great
fun grooving hip-hop.

The crew Rawgilicudy
Up before Optimus was the one and only
4zone. This duo represent the true underground hip-hop,
putting together clever catchy beats with fun party
lyrics to get the crowd bumping. But the main man of
the evening was Optimus and crew. Optimus is one white
boy who could make Eminem make a run for his money with
his full energetic straight up hard-core hip-hop representation.
Complete with a live band to back him playing from straight
up hip-hop tunes to the smooth sounds of reggae Optimus
is a man on the rise to greatness.

The
Brothel
@ The Key Club Hollywood
Ali
put together another fun party night at The Key Club
rightfully entitled The Brothel. Upstairs it was a feel
of hippie love groove fest, while pure decadence went
on in The Plush room.

Ali and Brothel babes
The
atmosphere for the night was a fun classy yet sexy club
scene. While dancing and partying to new wave, rock
and punk tunes hot girls danced on a box for your enjoyment.
It was like being at the nudie bar (minus the nudes
unfortunately) and lap dances. Hot dancers and fun groovy
music helped wisk another night away at The Key Club.

Sean
Healy Presents Powder
@ Club 1650
The
event for the evening was another Sean Healy presents
featuring the rock bands Pumped Callahan and Powder.
Pumped started out the ripping out they’re own
brand of Swedish rock.

Pump
Up
next was the rock act Callahan featuring the one and
only T-Roy on drums. Callahan are a great rock band
who definitely put it down with some good old fun rock
tunes.

But the band of the night was the eccentric
rock act Powder. If you’ve never experienced Powder
all I can say is this is one wild act that aims to please.
With rock sounds straight out of the eighties and a
show straight out of the planet Powder is a performance
that’s hard to beat. Their elaborate set changes
hot Barbie doll looking dancers makes Powder one of
the most original awe aspiring performances that’s
best described as a sexy fun wild space age extravaganza.
